Marvelisious,
Yes you can. From the inside, remove the screws that hold the electrical connections from the defogger to the chassis, then using your razor, (I use my Buck) knife cut all around the seal and remove the inner seal flange. then just gently push out the glass and what is left of the seal. you do not have to take the trim off. It helps to have some help.

BTW I have a rear glass out of an SEC that I want to trade for an SEL back glass, as mine too is fogged on two corners.

Thats what I figured. Perfect, that way I'll have a spare set of trim in case I screw up.

Thanks for the help! Hopefully I'll have some luck tomorrow.

Charlie, Garrett has already gone to the yards here in Sac. My phone was ringing all day yesterday as he went to each yard and reported the inventory to me lol.

I'm going Sunday, the earliest I can with the plans I have. I hear there are some Pontons out there and I gotta get my dad some parts.

I went yesterday, and today I have to do some cleaning up around here, there is a 60th surprise BD party for my land lord. 100 prople have been invited, and it is being cartered. I have MB crap scattered all aver the place, just need to organize and or hide stuff.. Now what to do with the 3rd extra 617 engine in the drive way?

tomarrow Iam heading back to the SJ yards for a few things like a 4 spd from a 78 240D, and if enough time is left in the afternoon, zoom over the the Moss Landing yard. Sunday is the BD party, and that leaves me Monday.

Mowery yard, 79 300SD 96k, has a racor 200fg filter I was interested in. already have 3 extras like I need one more.
85 300SD pos with a 2:88 Diff.
81 280SE with Euro bumpers, front good rear slight ding.
91 300E rearended, 206k, great interior very clean.
also a couple of the #2 fuel filter heads I was going to grab. these use the 2 "O" rings and no crush washer under the bolt.

HMMM, Sac is a 3 hr drive . so many yards, soooooo little time.

Charlie

I think Garrett has said these exact words when I tell him I'm gonna have a party

Three weeks back when we were in Portland, there were 2 in the same row, dang wish I knew then.
I haven`t seen any around here for a while.

so a floor mat and a 300D engine coming up as ordered.

I enjoyed meeting also, I was looking for you later and you vanished, oh that work thing gets in the way every now and then.

Charlie

As a matter of fact! Yes, I would jump up and down for a complete, undamaged set of W126 sun visors, including power clips, in palomino color. The sun and heat around here just plays havoc on the plastic in the sun visors.

Check richmond for palomino interior parts, I got a mint set of W126 seats there last weekend. There is a fresh 85 380SE in fairfield with grey interior, and a fe other w123, 126, 201 and 115 cars that have been there a while, including a well stripped 500sel amg.If anyone sees a set of 16x7 wheels on a w126 im looking for some (yeah, I know its unlikely for anyone who sees them to not take them, but I have seen a set of ronal r9s before I was into mercedes at all). Newark had quite a few euro cars, but only take the tools with you that you need, otherwise you will have to sort all of your stuff again because they are quite vigorous about making sure you dont sneak any parts out.

I'll keep that in mind this weekend.

Did anyone see a set of centra wheels on a w126 or w123? The last time I went to the yards there was a set in oakland but they weren't in very good shape. I want to get some eventually though, but I dont need them badly enough right now to spend $100 on fuel this weekend looking for a set lol
