Boost gauge Td in on the wastegate hose
1983 300SD
Anyone see any problem with Ting in your boost gauge on the line that goes from the turbo to the wastegate? This was the easiest spot that I could see to do it and also easily reversible. I have only read of people using the ALDA hard line. Any concerns? I initially saw 8 PSI max, tuned it to 12PSI max. Never any vacuum reading Bit more oomph, bit less smoke at WOT |
It will work to insure I wet hoses with blue silicone.I used my plug on intake manifold for boost gauge.

T it in before the over-boost protection solenoid. its near the driver so you don't have to plumb it far. Also it gives you an indication of the boost going to the ADLA so you know if your banjo bolt is getting plugged.

Teeing into the wastegate line will work but as the wastegate is a safety device, it is not advised to change it in any way. An accidental failure of the tee or the line to the boost gauge could prevent the wastegate from protecting your engine. It's your risk to take but there are safer ways.
