New to the 300D

Hello everyone

I kind of barged in here last week. A friend of my wife sold a a 1985 300D for a pretty good price. In all my excitment I just started posting questions with out stopping to introduce the car and myself (New to the whole fourm thing as well).

We bought the car from a lady who my wife works with. She used the car to comute to work. So right now the story is simple; we bought the car from a ladly who only drove the car to work. In the next couple of years the story will probably morph into; we got it from a little old lady that only drove it to church. As we have the car only about a week I will not start stretching the story too much yet.

The car is a 1985 300D with about 281,000 miles. Mechanically it has a few issues, nothing too serious, but it needs some items taken care of. The body and interior are in great shape. The car was re-painted a few years ago. It is a green/grey color that really defys descripition, but I am pretty sure it is the orginal color (my son says its a perrywinkle, I don't think I can tell my friends I have a perrywinke car so I am sticking with green/grey). The interior is tan leather. Some of the wood trim has fallen off but I have most of it and reattaching should not be a problem. The cover for the first aide kit is also broken. Other than that, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong inside the car.

As of right now I havn't got to spend alot of time working on the car (seems that the wife and kids want to eat every single day). In the next week I am going ot start trying to figure out the more important issues with it so I can get to driving it.

Thank you to everone here on the fourm that has made my learning curve that much easier. As of two weeks ago I knew nothing of MB, but have picked up a suprising bit of knowledge. I am hoping that this turns out as a fun project for my son and I. Again thanks

Zemke

Post a picture (if you've not before) they'll tell you what color it may be. The data tag on the radiator Core support if it's there should tell the story too Via paint code. (again if it's a factory color) the wood can be superglued back on to it's base, if not replacements can be had sometimes cheaply.

Yea, and I'll bet your job wants you to show up every day if they're going to pay you.

Life just wants to get between you and your Benz...

Yea my boss is picky that way, I just don't think he understands how cool this car is. I have also been touting the benifits of an all Ramen diet to the family (don't think they are buying it yet)
