Key On Engine Off Go Pedal Pulsation
 

Last evening, my hot wife and I went out on a date. When we got ready to leave, I noticed the go pedal started to pulsate, with the key on, during the glow cycle. Yes it was the pedal pulsating and not a result of the date...he he, lol. I have not noted this strange behavior before (the car, not the date) and was wondering if the cruise control actuator could possibly cause this, or something in the IP. After I started the engine, there was no noticeable engine erratic idle speed or pedal movement. Any ideas?

Hehe. Actually this really did happen. And I prolly do need to see a doc, but my car really did do as described. Thanks for humoring me funola.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? does it still do it?

Cruise control actuator is the only thing I can think of that would do this. Mine's been mechanically disconnected since before I bought the car, but for a few weeks this summer it would randomly come on when the key was turned on. After a while it stopped without any intervention on my part.

I noticed that the 300d 2.5 that I am working on does the same thing.

Assuming you have a relay/buzzer that goes off when you turn the key to the glow position, prior to startup, it could be that unit making contact and transferring the vibration to the pedal.
