Where's my ELR?
I keep seeing references online to the 95 E300D (NA OM606, mechanical IP) having electronic idle speed regulation, but I see no evidence anywhere under my hood of an ELR adjuster.
What gives? |
should be by the fuse panel, a round dial on the drivers side with the numbers 1-7 or 8 on it. where it is on a 87 anyways
|
IIRC there isn't an idle trim adjustment in the 95 E300. Might not be one from 1990 on.
Sixto 87 300D |
No adjustment from 1990 is very plausible. My 1991 SDL does not have an adjustment knob.

Hi
my '93 300TD has ELR, UK market OM603. Check the ETM, it comes under 'Electronic Diesel system'. No knob, its fully automatic, just controls the idle speed, the ELR is the electromechanical actuator that sits near the manual idle adjuster. Had to troubleshoot mine when the crank speed sensor failed. cheers! |
Ya, I guess I should clarify... my SDL does use the ELR to keep the idle speed constant (and it changes the idle speed based on temp too), but there is no adjustable knob like the early 603's.
