OM606 into a W123?

Anyone heard about this kind of transplant. I may be able to get a 606 from a 95'. Maybe put a small turbo on it to give a little pep.

you'd need the transmission also.

I've done a V8 conversion on my MG and designed the suspension and braking system.

So if it fits, I shouldn't have a problem with fabrication. I just didn't want to get into the project and have the engine hit the firewall, or the trans be too big for the tunnel. Seeing those pictures gives me hope, just wish I had more info about the swap

Are there any issues adding a turbo to a non-turbo 606?

No oil cooled pistons as far as I know.

& different valves as well.
Not sure if the wrist pins are larger.
IP is different.
You will need some of the 606 electronics as well.

Wiring a 606 turbo IP is a nightmare. A 603 turbo IP is closer to plug-n-play. You can get a 603 IP rebuilt with larger 606 elements to take advantage a 606's potential.

I wish people would stop repeating this. Per the Intro to Service Manual for the 95 E300D, the OM606.910 (and presumably the 912 in the non-turbo W210 E300D) has oil cooling for the pistons. The difference compared to the OM606.961/962 or the OM603.960 is that it lacks oil galleys in the pistons.
