Looking for this relay

Mercedes part# 001 545 22 32-pre glow timer for a 1979 300d

But I don't want to pay the 270 and 305 being asked for it at the 2 places I have found it. And I’ve hit a lot of places, but only found the 2. Does anyone have a decent used one?

Why are relays so expensive? Even the turn signal/hazard relay for the later 123 is $50.

Before I paid $300 for that relay, I'd install a Ford starter relay and a push button. Simpler and directly controllable by the human mind.

Then what's the push button for?

Who would have figured Ford to be the front runners in telekinetic vehicle control?

I'll try ottohouse, but the telekinetic version from Ford has it's appeal. Here's a picture I was asked for:

What's that a picture of? It's not the glowplug relay.

I might have one of those. I'll report back in a few.

I do..I do. Part # 001 545 22 32 stamped right in it.
PM me if you're interested.

Kerry it is the Glow plug timer relay. The older 123s don't have them on the wheel fender like the later models.

Odd. Otthouse shows the same relay as later years for the 79 300d. oops--now I see they have an VIN # break off in 79 for different relays.
