have you answered where you are? what's the climate like? with enough adjustments, 134 can be made to put out 40F vent temps, but it's not easy...

I agree with attempting to lower temps by removing a few oz of 134... personally, if I had a functioning a/c system, and replaced all that, I'd either properly convert it with bigger condenser, and aux fans, or properly convert it back to R12.
since you have all that new stuff, you know what oil is in the system, is it ESTER or PAG?
IF it's pag, you need another compressor to convert... sorry.
if it's ester, you can remove the dryer, flush the lines, and the coils, and add 6 oz of mineral oil to the system, or even leave the ester and use R12 and it will work.
tell us what it's got, and what you plan on doing...

1. Get one of those Blowers from Northern Tools and put that in front of your condensor ... like right at the front of the grill... when testing your system... I do not trust those gauge numbers although I do agree you probably have too much in the system...
2. If with the Blower going you are able to get good Vent temperatures by taking out some of the refrigerant... then
3. Get a high performance fan .. a pusher ... to put in front of the condensor... check 1980sd's thread going right now.. SPAL pusher....

Just got home from Las Cruces. I have a new compressor, new R/D, new TX, blah, blah, but use 134a.
As Greg said, the airflow in the front is critical. The Aux fan in front cannot cool the condenser enough with 134a. It needs lots of airflow to cool.
When we came out of the Cattle Baron this afternoon at 230pm (one of the best restaurants anywhere) it was 114F indicated on the parking lot. We headed north and it took about 30 minutes at 75mph before it was putting out 40 degree air at the center vents. On the freeway it was only 99-102f.
My system has a leak so I charged it Sat before leaving .. 87F and low side said 35 lbs. The vent temp was 60 because it won't cool sitting still.
You have to have lots of air flow... or switch back to R12.
My dos centavos.

Walking isn't a lost art: one must, by some means, get to the garage.

Remove some R134a to get the low side pressure down to around 36-38 PSI and report back would be my advice. I have seen many systems with overcharging being the only cause of poor performance. More is less when it comes to refrigerant levels.

My 82 911SC with the original York compressor running R-12 was very sensitive to overcharging of the system.
