W124 Blower Motors
 

Does anyone know if a '94 E420 blower motor will fit in my '87 300D? The reason I ask... seems the cabin filter may have been added in '94. So if in fact I get a cheap second hand E420 motor, will it work? I thought I read some place that the squirrel cages are more narrow on the filter models?

I heard they're not interchangeable, not even the core motor without cages. It's a bear to replace the cowl and airbox but I'm tempted to do it for the cabin filter.
