Question how much should i pay for 1990 300D 2.5TD with 300???

It's in good condition , will need some work like AC n few electronics.
It has about 300k miles on it . He's asking $2500. I havent seen it yet, I will check it out tomorrow , Wut should i look for ???

I'd only pay $1000, and that's there is no rust. Sounds like every comfort feature is broken.

Look for service records.

People rarely neglect the AC system and nothing else. You might easily spend $4000 on that car getting it to the condition of a $4000 car. Considering you can get a well sorted 2.5 with 100K fewer miles for about $4000 (and immediately spend another $2000 making little things right), it doesn't make sense to start any further in a hole. For a daily driver, anyway. If you're looking for a project or you plan to flip it, it might have merit. Does it have rare options like ASD and heated seats? Does it have orthopedic seats?

Wow that's too much to spend on that old diesel. But anyways ill check it out today and see how it goes.
