Gotta Love that R-12

Finally put the donor motor back in my w115 300d and charged up the a/c system which works perfectly. This system makes ice cubes! Love R-12!

I can't wait to get my R-12 setup back in the car. But I need to freshen up the '84 motor and clean the A/C housing before that happens. No sense is recharging with R-12 when I know the evap coils and vac pods need to be replaced... The '85 currently has 134 and a weak compressor. I keeps me from dying.

Yeah, I quit driving my '02 F-250 in the summer 'cause the Benz is (was) so much cooler with the R-12...

I bought a 300SD last year that had been sitting for 5 or 6 years and the AC has been surprisingly cold. I'm not getting ice cubes, but it's good enough.

Also replaced receiver/drier -always a good practice on an old system that has been opened up. I must say, its nice to be in California, older cars seem to do better here - don't be hating, just say'n!

Good for you!! When the system works right, it works really good.

I was lucky with my car. The PO chose not to switch it over and kept the R12. I charged it when I bought the car almost 3 years ago and it has been fine ever since. I have to direct the vents away from the steering wheel or my hands will get numb.
