I was at the Foster PNP yard yesterday in Portland, Or. There is a 81 300TD pretty well picked over, but does have the front sway bar which is 2mm thicker than the normal W123 bar. I know it is a sot after part for those wanting to stiffen up the front end.

There is no SLS, been replaced with shocks.

82 300D with a TD engine.

77 300D with rear Progressive Springs. 284K

71 220D automatic, good front Euro bumper

72 220D 4-spd, good inst cluster.

Both have the Gorilla Knobs. how do you remove these? looks like the knob has to be removed off the shaft then the chrome ring unscrewed and then removed from the rear. how does the knob come off? these old 220D`s are new territory for me. .

If I had more time I whould pull these 2 TD heads and the Sway Bar, but Iam leaving today for Calif. but will be back in a week or so, and pull them if they are still there. hate to see good parts scrapped.

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
