Replacing a compressor and drier does not constitute "rebuilding." Nor does it call for adding a volume of oil equal to the system capacity.

Good questions. Idk. I couldn't tell you if they spread it around or not. They did replace the R4 in my other SD but since the other SD is low man on the totem pole it got some Freeze12 stuff, works nice at speed, but crappy at idle/stop/go traffic.

This is a good point. I have seen some testing products that will tell you if the system is low or not on oil..now whether these are what they used (or even accurate i dont know)

Let's assume the system is low on oil, would that not effect the compressor and show up in the system pressures?

Let's assume it was high on oil (not that we have any indication that it is) wouldnt that show up as reduced cooling capacity? The same for air in the system...

Right...... when replacing individual components..... it is standard to measure the amount taken from the system and replace that amount...
Perhaps they figured the receiver drier and compressor added up to that amount....

They also added 4oz to my other SD when they replaced the R4/expansion valve/dryer on it...

I was under the impression it was fully rebuilt, I had not seen that invoice until after I posted.
