Hello,

Wondering what this color is called?

I have never seen it. The 300d is an 85.

The interior is lighter than the normal polomino as well. What color is it?

...that it is smoke silver metallic, which I believe was an '85 only color on the w123, as was black pearl metallic.

DMorrison sold his son's '85 300D that was the same color (smoke silver metallic) on the forum a few years back. I wish I had snagged it. I think the color looks nice on the w123s.

The black pearl (the color of my '85) is hot in the Texas sun...especially when it's 100+ degrees every day, it seems.

Agreed. My '85 300D was also Smoke Silver Metallic, looked just like that. A nice color. My interior was dark (navy) blue, hard to see things dropped on the floor. A lighter color is nice but tends to show the dirt if you don't keep up on your cleaning.

I have had 300d's with the dreaded blue interior...never again!

The '85 300D I recently picked up is the same color (code 702) Smoke Silver Metallic. Mine has Palomino MB-Tex (code 254). My dad has the twin to it in Florida. It's got 418k miles on it so the paint is a bit tired and doesn't look like the one above but still a great looking color combo!

Also have a '85 300CD in Pearl Black Metallic. Nice car/color, it needs a paint job though.
