Anybody in Atlanta got a shot of Freon?
Just got my 81 300SD back with no tranny leak. The AC needs a slight top up of Freon because it has bubbles in the sight glass and not blowing as cold as usual.
Anyone in Atlanta who can slide in a little Freon? Willing to pay of course. Should not take too much. I will drive to you. Thx. |

Bubbles in the sight glass at idle or higher rpm? I wouldn't mess with it if the bubbles clear at higher rpm. Maybe you should clean the condenser and evaporator.

Read the sticky at the top of the page...
You are in a prime situation for putting too much refrigerant into your system... That is what the MB AC FSM says....'site gauge not to be trusted for refrigerant filling' put gauges on the system and tell us the test conditions Exactly.... then post the readings.... You must have a blower directed at the condensor to get reliable readings for determining if you need refrigerant... In addition to other conditions... but that is the one if left off is most likely to give you bubbles when you are in fact FULL already...

I'm about 2-1/2 hours southeast and have plenty of r12 along with the proper recovery/vacuum/charge machine.
