As a request by the service writer of my shop, I will be running a demonstration on air bag detonation, which I will also film and post. will I catch the same flack for that?

Just so you know, they cannot be shipped because they are considered explosives.

Tell them it is leaving the yard - one component at a time

Yeah, not exactly extreme and kind of dumb... Issues:

-beer in crankcase. Why?

-No coolant (I think). I get that.

-No oil? Well the beer is in there

-Brake cleaner or starting fluid. Why?

If I were going to have some fun, I'd probably have left the coolant in, put a can of lubro moly oil additive (moly) in there, then run for a bit, drained the oil, and put the car against a stationary object, parking brake and pedal firmly set, and set it full throttle until the AT or engine failed.

Why? Could then see what the engine would do with a FM additive in the crankcase and non-optimal lube, as well as how well the AT held up.

At least try to learn something from destructive behaviors... Not just destroy stuff.

beer in crankcase - why not, it was a hot day and a cheap warm beer
coolant - drained so it wouldn't make a mess of a line blew
oil - drained to a bare minimum amount so it wouldn't make a mess if a rod launched through the block
brake clean - would only rev so high on the pump, brake clean was allowing it to run away
why? I told the guys at work it was going for scrap. They said no sence sending a running engine to the crusher. I originally said no, and held my ground because I wanted to sell it, but never having seen an engine fail I have to honest, I was curious.

The shop is a Mack Truck dealership, the yard is always clean and tidy. Scrap cars cannot be left sitting around. It looks very unprofessional. Before someone says blowing it up is unprofessional, we did it just before we closed, no one was around.

I have a deadline to get it out of the yard and in for scrap. To get the most for scrap it has to be prepped. No fuel tank, No fluids, No wheels. I drained the fluids I allowed the guy who sprayed to brake clean to blow it up before I pulled the fuel tank.

Once the tank was pulled, no one would be able to run the engine to verify it was ok even if I didn't blow it up.

this is a holiday weekend here so would have no access to the car for a couple days, We did this at the end of the last day the shop was open, first day the scrap yard reopens it is gone

Only one person has formally shown ANY interest in any of the car here, WHUNTER, so as it sits, I don't have reason to ask for an extention on keeping it in the yard.

Run Away Engine is funny and it is not your car.

Could you post a 6 cylinder? Also, I think your motor was really weak to make just that little noise before it blew. I was hoping to see a rod fly out the side of the motor.

car is gone, reinvesting the $300 I got for scrap into my 300sd

190 purchase price - $500
190 selling price - $300

only depreciated $200, though it was 40%
