The side, back and bottom covers all hold back engine oil. The ELR actuator, ALDA, shutoff actuator and control rod sensor o-rings all hold back engine oil.

Good call. Even leaks at the injectors can dribble to the engine mount.

Clean to SEE

Devon,

You may have to clean everything and get it all Dry before you can Sleuth out
the Leak's Location.

Non-Chlorinated Brake Cleaner is great on greasy messes.
(Just don't get it on the I.P.'s I.D. Tag ,It'll wash all the Painted info off.)

In the Outer Reaches of Diagnostic Persnickety-Ness ,You might find yourself
Taping Clean Dry Paper Towels in the suspect areas as sort of "Canary in a Coal Mine" tools.
Then Run the engine and look for Diesel(If that's what it is) leaks.

Diesel fuels can "Migrate" [Gravity,Windflow, reverse Capillary action,Etc.] far
from the ORIGINAL leak site.

That's a Fast Drip Leak though.

All,

The sleuthing has been enlightening to read. looking closer I see that the fuel is trailing down from somewhere higher than I originally notated with the video. After putting some light down between IP and engine block, I do see fuel all along this side of IP as well, but no noticeable point of weep, (more like how rocks in a small stream's bed will shimmer with water running across yet show no real indication of movement.)

Seems like Sixto's idea is it?

"Fuel might be leaking from the relief fitting on the block side of the IP and dribbling down the IP case below the governor."

Or is compress ignite's hypothesis about the emergency fuel shut off seal leaking valid?

Also, I seem to remember seeing more fuel accumulate around the furthest back of the 5 injector output lines, from the bottom though, where the little locked gear things are ( forgive my horrible naming) So it could be the injector lines where they connect to the top of the pump?

Where is this relief fitting on the block side of the IP? easy to change seal?

First things first though, I will clean everything up very thoroughly and then look around at great length. I've been needing to familiarize myself with the IP anyway. Anyone have a diagram, or link to one, for the pump w, inputs/outputs and seal/o-ring locations? I am a very hands on, visual learner and seeing it deconstructed with the flow of fuel & oil would be invaluable. the path fuel takes through every connection still jumbles my brain when I can't see every component in front of me. The things I fix at work are much more compact systems.

Is it really a quiet idle? that's it's normal when its up to operating temp, definitely more clatter when cold though. Engine is still young & well cared for (i would like to think)

Thank you all, again, and I hope this will narrow down the drips' origin. I will post copious pictures as my results.

Here's some views of the IP courtesy of gsxr:

The red cap on a vertical surface in the second picture is a possible fuel leak point. Attached at that location is a plastic line with a banjo fitting secured by a bolt that doubles as a pressure relief/regulator valve. The plastic line continues to the big fuel filter area where it joins the braided return line from the #1 injector and continues to the fuel tank.

you da man,

I just replaced head gasket, newer turbo, all back together except maybe some vacumn lines,
I have the dl'ed manual in PDF a real pain to find what I need but I did,

I am assuming no fuel,I have the 1st injector cracked at the pump,
i keep cranking and cranking, not longer than 15 seconds though
still no fuel coming out of the injector, maybe 1/2 turn looses
, I topped off the canister filter and there is fuel at the primary the clear filter,
any ideas?

make sure all fuel hose connections are tight but loosen the metal fuel lines at the nut on the injectors by one full turn or two.

Now, crank the engine at WOT (wide open throttle) until you see no air bubbles on the nuts at the injectors. (do not crank for more than 30 seconds at a time)

If you get that far and are happy with the fuel coming out of the hard injector lines, then tighten them back up and try to start.

You should inspect your glowplugs also.
