Since you've checked the throttle linkage, maybe you can remove the IP side cover to check that the rack has full range of motion. You'll need a gasket for the type of side cover - brass or aluminum.

Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose to the shutoff actuator. If the car runs better, there's a problem with the key switch vent or the key switch itself. If the car doesn't run better, there might be a problem with how the shutoff actuator was installed (recently replaced?) or an internal problem.

That's the transmission vacuum amplifier. The shutoff actuator is atop the IP right above the STOP lever -
OE is a metal can with a nipple pointing sideways. Replacement are often plastic with a nipple pointing up. Sixto 87 300D Last edited by whunter; 12-19-2011 at 11:54 PM. Reason: attached picture |

Have you checked boost pressure yet? at 1800rpm you should see boost.

Try getting some diesel purge (2 cans) and run it off a liter bottle in the engine bay. It is possible the rack is gummed up or some other issue. Also try disconnecting the ELR on the back of the IP.

i did run seafoam though it. but ill try the diesel purge as well. it seemed like when i followed diesel giants DIY on diesel purge i was getting fuel back into the can and it never seemed like it actually took the stuff in.
maybe i was just impatient. but ill do the ELR as well. isent that just the idle thing? |
