I had similar issues with MB parts dept and they get devious. first they ask for a VIN, then for a current registration for that VIN, then they simply say they are not allowed to order it. After 4 weeks of this BS I had to get a member in Holland to buy it and ship it to me. Hope it goes better for you......

The parts guys I deal with are ok... that escalation comes from the parts computer lookups... been there on another item.

I was actually just looking for lug nuts for the two-piece bolt/nut arrangement on my basketweave euro-delivery wheels.

In the end, the company line is that they don't support aftermarket wheels on the 1970s and 1980s models, even if they got delivered on the car new. So if you have any of the kewl wheel styles, you're on your own....

There should be a compatible parts look up feature in EPC. I looked up various non-USA part numbers on EPC. You can then use that specific part number for the tech. He/she won't do the digging to cross reference, but with a p/n they can order it.

I can't really imagine there'd be a custom set of lug nuts though. Do your wheels have an M-B part number stamped? Start with that p/n and look at the exploded drawing.

You might find some VINs on eBay.
