Cruise control servo motor
83 240D
Hi guys and gals Back in July I bought a cream puff 83 240D that was promptly totaled by a texting *$**^%$ . I've made my repairs after buying the car back and am once again working down the list of minor repairs. One of the last ones is the cruise control. I'll start by saying that I am very aware of the problems with the amplifier box, (this ain't my first dance) and have pulled two from the bone yards that have not rectified the situation. That said while I am waiting on another one I was wondering if there is a way to test the servo ? Mine is an electronic servo so is there a test i can do while i impatiently wait on the rain to stop so I can get out to the local parts yard? I hate saying the amp is dead without testing the servo as there is no action at all with the amps I have tried so far, even though I do know a salvage amp is a crap shoot. ( just covering all angles). Jon J

tried three amps
So far not one of them has done anything at all not even the slightest hint of dysfunction. One would think there would be an improper operation of some sort at the very least. I hate to just throw money at it. Is there any test for the servo or the switch on the steering column that can eliminate these two items?
