Smile w123 300d ignition tumblers

Ok
I just went back out to the car and tryed a different pin tool for releasing the tumbler
Yesterday I struggled with the ground to 70 degree bailing wire trick and the paperclip trick
These are substandard tools for this job
I had an epiphany this morning after a lousy nights sleep with the new tumblers stuck in the car and the key not working
I have one of those tiny screwdriver sets and the smallest one was just right to fit into the hole that releases the pawl so that you can turn the black ring
I did have to modify it slightly by grinding the edges of the screwdriver sides just enought to allow the thing to enter the hole I tryed this in tyhe old one first
The tinyest one in the set is stiff enough to do the job easely and with the thumb rest on the end of the driver it is easy to push the pin in to really depress the pawl
Hope this helps future ignition tumbler mechanics
