Can someone look at this?

I want this, I'm itchin' to take my son on a road trip . . .
Anyone real close that could look at it? It'll probably
go for way more than I can afford. . .

But it's so pretty!

Cool car! The car looks great in the ad. One thing about a 280 is, it will guzzle some gas! The last person that bought something from the seller left negative feedback. Would certainly want to take a look at it in person.

M110 doesn't produce enough manifold vacuum for the brake booster?

I saw that. I emailed the seller and he gave me his side of the negative feedback. It sounded reasonable.

In the picture of the door frame that shows the VIN plate, 7th picture from the bottom, am I mistaken or is that a crack in the metal that has been spot welded?

The car looks to be in reasonable condition, but I get the impression that the seller is flipping it after getting it from an estate or an elderly owner who had it since new.

I seems to be a bold statement to say the all the rubber is good. There are a lot of internal parts that I doubt have been looked at closely, like bushings and such. I doubt that the seller has driven it much and can vouch for a lot of details that I would be interested in.

As far as value, I don't think this model is in high demand and would be surprised if it commanded a high price.

My dad's family had a few of those new back in the 70's.....the 280 is awesome but will suck down gas faster than a 560SEL. Someone I know had one and they routinely did 11-13Mpg in general driving. As a show/pleasure car, it would be awesome, but I'd not use it as a daily driver.....

Forum member WolfWalker had one of those in coupe version a few months ago that he was begging us to take off his hands- where were you? I love the M110 ( I have one sitting on my garage floor waiting for a ride), but the carb version should be avoided. Look for a K-jet

Fairly powerful engine but as stated by others hard on fuel compared to what is expected today. Carb version can have serious issues currently or develop them down the road.

I too suspect it could go pretty cheap even in good condition. The buyers feedback regardless of what he claims is not good to see. Generally it takes a lot for an ebay buyer to post a negative. There are exceptions of course to that.

Are you looking at the crack in the rubber door seal?

Buy it cheap.
Take your road trip.
When you get home, sell it, or drop a 602 or 603 in it and sell the M110.

Hard to say what it will go for.

Not everyone will love the colour (though some people will like the combo). Not everyone will want that motor.

You know that there's a 250 for sale in the swap shop area (though he's in MD, which would be a lot further for you than CA)?

Not as nice as this one by a mile, but it's like a budgie (cheeeeeeep).

I'm pretty sure that is the door seal for the back door. Not metal.

I think you may be correct. If so, it negates the sellers claim that " . . . all of the rubber and seals are nice as well." I have found that rubber seals tend to age at a consistent rate, so my guess is that most of the other rubber is dried and cracking like the door seal. I just don't get a real good feeling about this seller and would steer clear of him and the car he is selling, unless I could see it, drive it, and get it for cheap. That is, if I really wanted this model. Personally it does not interest me but that decision is up to the OP.

No. That is sealant somebody attempted to weld on top of.
