new at this

newby with 300D 300TD 240D 450SEL
Im going to swap engines in my 300TD the engine I bought has been sitting in a barn for several years in the dry. It ran when taken out. Should I lube anything before trying to crank it once I get it in. The 240 D runs but needs some body damage fixed I have all the parts needed except radiator to repair it. Any experience in these matters would be appreciated. Im a newby to the forum info. so I may do things awkward for a while. thanks ahead of time for any help.I have read I need to change filter clean tank and adjust valves and cable linkages to accelerator. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. 300td engine swap its an automatic. And a 240d front end repair.

Is the engine you are going to put in the TD from another TD? If not, it won't have the pump in the head for the SLS system. You'll need to figure out how to resolve that problem.
