190D transmissions
The transmission is starting to fail in the `87 190D 2.5 with 212k miles. We have a 190E 2.3 gas parts car, and a good transmission from a 350SDL, will either of these transmission work? I'm pretty sure the 350 would work.
Thanks!

The 2.3 transmission might have second gear start and the shift points might be off since the gasser can rev over 6000 rpm and the 2.5 revs to about 5000 rpm tops. Swapping valve bodies might fix this.
The 722.3 from the 350 might be a tight fit if the 2.5 came with a 722.4. Sixto 87 300D |
