Hopefully this wagon head I have does not fit into that category. It's coming off and going on ebay.

No a wagon head is different. A very good reason to stick to W124 wagons .

I stumbled across a 603 head in germany.

http://www.german-spob.de/start.php?name=CYLINDER-HEAD---OM-603-300-D-TURBO-DIESEL&artikel_id=12210&language=&seite=gebrauchtteile&seite_gebr=art_details&search_gebrauchtteil=&PHPSESSID=dfbb0f38d2405715ab5db11062920abe

Might be a little pricy

I found and sold several 603 heads, and one was a #22. BC bought it for what at the time I thought was a okay but low price- but that's why I am a junkyard hound- to help other MB enthusiasts. He has certainly paid his karmic dues to the MB community. It was far less than the going price now, but we are both happy. If I find more they'll go to those that have also paid their dues- may it be FI, WM, Sixto or others.

Thanks, but I'm so confident in my #14 that I sold my #20 to Jeremy

May it be me MTU...as I am in Florida and will drive to you, buy you lunch, and sap as much knowledge as I can from you before leaving with a newer head for my 603 :-)

Yikes!!!! I did say it might be pricy.

Might be good to keep this webb site for future reference, they show cross referecnce as to which models a part fits.

I enlarged the picture showing the part#, is it the bottom row of #`s?

Looks like the # 22. OH well, too far for shipping anyway.

Yup, third picture shows a #22 casting number. This correlates with the #96 ordering part number.
