300sd cooler lines

I have spent an hour or so looking through the post hear trying to find info on the removal of the cooler lines.So far I have them un bolted but cannot remove them from the car is there some thing that need to be removed before the lines can be taken out I am drenched in oil and the cat litter in on the driveway as i write this.I love the way they make these cars yet this oil line thing seems to be a pain if you know what I mean. thank god the threds didint come off of the oil cooler....

This job is a major pain in the a**
There is a hold down bracket under the left engine mount bracket that keeps the cooler hoses in place.
You will also need to remove that engine mount bracket as you can't get the old hoses out or the new ones in unless this bracket is out of the way.

cooler lines

I have the two hold downs removed already . so the motor mount must come out what have i gotten my self into, do i need to suport the engine to do this ? boy what a can of worms

There is a wealth of information on Motor Mounts. Do a search in the diesel discussion group. If you need any specific help, send me a private message.

BTW, the short answer on supporting the engine when removing the motor mounts is, YES.

undo the 8 or 10 mm bolt on the bottom

i think my send button was stuck. any way remove the bolt then place a thick piece of wood between the oilpan and the jack saddle and lift thill the engine rises.
