help identifying this hose

So I'm doing some work on my W123 and I spot this random hose just sitting on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Its is a soft plastic line, coming out of the firewall. I looked everywhere and I can't figure out where its supposed to go, and why it would be disconnected.

That looks like the end that screws into the oil pressure gauge in the dash. Perhaps the other end looks the same and that's it.

well that solves the mystery then! I guess I was assuming an oil pressure line would be a hard line or braided. I've been diagnosing my transmission vacuum system and thought this might have something to do with it... guess not!

I can't remember what happened with that oil gauge, I think vstech said he was gonna check for me.

Don't run the engine without that line screwed into the gauge, or you'll end up with big oily mess on your floor.

If you need a gauge, PM me, I have a few, I`ll gift wrap it with a pretty red bow.

Or check the PNP`s in your area. www.picknpull.com and check the inventory for 240, 280, 300. the early 123`s up to 79 use PSI for the oil and "F" for the Temp. 80 and later Bars for the oil and "C" for the oil.
