Why is my temperture rising or Plenty of wiper fluid. W124 OM602

Hello All,
Today my temp climbed to 120. It was about 100 driving on the highway at 75 mph with the ac on. Not usually a concern, because when I slow down the temperature comes down to about 90 or so. We had pulled into Daytona for lunch and my temp didn't drop when I slowed down it kept going up.
WTF came to mind. Pulled into Chic Fil A for lunch, popped the hood, my overflow canister was empty and my washer fluid container was overflowing.
Shut down the car, went inside and tried to figure out how I was going to fix this. OK. No brainer. The heat exchanger in the washer fluid bottle sprung a leak. Seems like a no brainer, just remove it or plug it off. OK my first thought was to use some tubing to tie the ends together. Easy fix. Asked in CFA if there was a parts place around. Pep Boys less than a mile down the street. The gods are looking favorably upon me.
Tried to explain my problem to a parts guy. It was easier to show him. He suggested I just use some bolts to plug the ends of the hoses that feed the heat exchanger. That would work and it would be 5 minute fix.
$3 for some stainless steel metric M10 bolts, screwdriver, antifreeze, washer fluid, and rags total about $30 bucks and 10 minutes later I'm back on the road.

Wife was a champ through the whole thing. I'll post some pictures tomorrow and see if I can find the leak in the heat exchanger.

W.W.Fluid Tank H.E.

Any chance she was run on "Green" coolant before you acquired her?

That Aluminum spiral H.E. is Mighty Thin Goods!

Nice Roadside Assist!
