CWC on CL

Comments?

I was thinking $500 max till I read carefully and saw KLIMA is not working either.

well it's an 85, so the issues may be worth it... rust rules it out for me though...
good daily driver needs glow plugs, runs and shifts well... well worth 800 i'd think.

I'd give him at least a couple of extra hundred dollars for knowing that 'T' means Touring and not Turbo.

What is the typical KLIMA malfunction? I know only of 240D pushpull wires, not of the little man behind the HVAC curtain.

I have a '77 dash heater box and KLIMA in the rafters of my garage. Will it drop into an 85?

"Only 300k on this car, so it has another 200k to go"

Is there a whole separate world of delusional MB owners out there? Seems like every MB you see on craigslist that is owned by someone who doesn't know about the car says they go 500k......

I see W123 wagons so rarely now....maybe a few times a year, and never a nice one.

Well geez I just dropped one off to be junked yesterday. But don't worry, it was a rusted mess.

I like how many W124's I read about with V6's. Or the 5 cylinder SDL's.

if that were (much) closer, and one or two hundred dollars cheaper, i would have snapped it up.
unless there was something spectacular about it, i would consider it a secondary car or winter beater (fix brakes and other safety issues), and when more cost ineffective things started to break/go wrong, it would be a good parts donor for my other '85.

:-\
  1. Ether used to start recently
  2. Tailgate rusted out, cracked plexiglas in tailgate window
  3. Vacuum leaks in HVAC, locks.
  4. Rotted floors, stopped repair as scope expanded
  5. 1 CV shot, 1 boot ready to go.
  6. Locked front caliper.
  7. Ignition lock broke, currently farmered up for manual shutdown.
Goal, ~$2000 clean 3 season daily driver.
5 x glow plug $75
Rebooted CV from VStech ? $150 shipped
$ 2 x resto floor pans $200 shipped
W123 tailgate, shipped ?$200
Chinese Brake caliper $75
brake pads $30
Vacuum servos, KLIMA parts
In garage.

? Timing chain $150

Inevitable yet undiscovered: $250 MIN.

Cheaper to find a $2000 300TD, I think.

That 77 heater box should drop in your 85 with some R&Ring of some manual parts. Iam working in this project now, an 82/82 heater box into my 85. It has been done before.
