Clearly not MB owners!!!
In time I am confident John will find out what the real situation was.
We can all be sure that there was no wrong doing on Johns part.

No body in their right mind complains like has gone on about a neighbor !!
The sad thing is that I bet John's helped that neighbour out a few times with lawn mowers / technical advice / sugar (or what ever) and now he's been stabbed in the back.

I have a similar situation here. I'm forever lending out stuff to my (wealthy) neighbours who can't be bothered to buy whatever it is they need for themselves... But they don't like the look of a car up on sticks on my driveway. Fortunately (for everyone concerned) there's only one car on the driveway!

Stick it on a train no container? (I bet I chose the most expensive way other than flying!)

Yup, I've mowed their lawns, loaned them tools, GIVEN them mowers, let them use my land for gardening (in exchange for using said mower on my yard...) worked on their cars, etc... it's frustrating, but I totally understand their right to not have 40some cars visible out their window...

UPDATE!
Property survey crew showed up today, and we marked off my property lines, and set several stakes out on the line. 3 of my "neighbors" all griped and moaned about tromping on their yard, and why I'm surveying in their yard... blah blah. then they all started yelling, and said they'd have to call the owners about it... yeah, they were renters doing the griping about the property lines... odd.
I figure a nice new fence will end all arguments and keep trash out of my yard!
I'm still waiting on the city to inspect and give me a deadline, so the strip party continues!!! everybody that can come help is welcome!!!
thanks to all who have already!

John,

I need you to perform an anti-rain dance. Rained most of Saturday. I called Saturday night, and when I started driving on Sunday, it started to pour again so I turned around. I cannot follow directions on a sunny day -- I hate to see a rainy day. LOL. See you next week I hope if the weather permits. Mark, Columbia, SC

my large white canopy paid for itself today!

I have one left, and it's in a complete car... window regulators are inop, and there is a decent rust spot under the battery tray... flawless other than that.
come on over!

oh, and does anybody know why the 240 motor needs a center motor mount? I've pulled 3 617's and never had any center mount... my engine hoist pulled the car right off the jack stands... before we found that mount...

If I didn't have this whole school thing and what not I'd hop in the 300D and do it. Drop that sucker in the back seat area and come on home. But I cant

Made it home at 2 am this morning. Long day. Pulled the 78 616 engine from vstech's rusty 240, just before the thunderstorms came. This will give me the rest of the parts to complete the short block from junkyardjim.

many thanks to John.

Hi John,
I had a similar situation as yours a few year back, but only involved three cars, and fortunately not the additional seven cars I had hidden behind a stockade fench - what a bummer! I hate to hear of these types of misfortunes. I would give you a hand if I lived in your neck of the woods.
Always fun taking cars apart quickly - wish they went together the same way! This is my first post to this forum - joined to get involved with you MB folks.
I had to respond because I'm also interested in some used parts for
my '85 Merc 300CD if you happen to have them.
I'm looking for the three piece chrome euro bumpers, front and rear, from
euro 123 chasies. If I remenber correctly, I believe these bumpers applied to 230 and 280C's and/or CE's, from 1978 thru 1985?, and possibly euro 240's and 300D's. I don't have correct part numbers at this time.
I can send you a photo to help clarify if needed. Please shoot me a reply
if you posess a pair of these, or if you know of someone who may, I'd be
interested in purchasing them. Thanks, Clax
P.S.- Good luck with your goverment dealings
