A few of you commented about bypassing the fuel T-stat. Are you referring to the fuel heater located lower and aft of the OE pump? Currently I am still running through that but could bypass it easily if recommended. What would be the purpose of bypassing it?

You have a heater/heat exchanger and a fuel thermostat.

In Minnesota, both need to work.

Gelling really sucks.

No need to touch the fuel thermostat, sounds like you found it, if it isn't leaking. If you touch it, it will leak.

A rebuild kit isn't expensive as MB parts go. There's basically a circlip holding an increasingly brittle plastic nipple and o-ring. A new o-ring will fix the leak if the nipple doesn't break in the process handling it.

I didn't think they made a rebuild kit for my pump. Remember, I have a 603 engine (300SDL).

If they make a rebuild kit for the pump I'd love to know though. I would definitely go that route.

Sorry, rebuilt kit and individual parts for the fuel thermostat... in case you touch it.
