Had a word with magnaflow and got two part nos. for diesel cats. One is 16 inches in length and one is 11 inches in length. Im going to measure what can fit. The guy on the phone told me that you just need to thrash it once a week to heat up the catalyst for it to burn the soot off. - I usually pull it hard when fully warmed up and get on the highway - love the strong pull of the transmission shifts

Ive put the cat in - its about 6 inches behind its original mounting point - the drone is eliminated but I still have a sharp metallis rasp between 2500 and 3000 rpm - no leaks, nothing - the sound seems to be from the two header pipes, Ive tightened the transmission clamp, but the noise is still there.
While driving - it sounds like an exhaust leak. Muffler shop has no idea what can cause this - as they checked everything with a rubber mallet. Anyone ever experienced this? Or do I need to replace both mufflers. on the same note - There is a 2.5 turbo at a yard near my house from which I can yank the exhaust - would that work?
