News Flash: POR-15 really does stain your hands!
With one small can of POR-15, I was able to rehabilitate one battery tray (the other was so bad I had to replace it) and both areas beneath the trays. Really amazing stuff!
I used gloves for the marine clean and the prep and ready, but to maneuver the brush more easily to make sure I painted all the nooks and crannies I didn't use gloves for the paint. I thought, "How hard can it be to remove paint?" Big mistake. I am now the black version of leprous for the foreseeable future!

"IS IT DANGEROUS TO GET POR-15 ON MY HANDS? No, but if you do, remove it at once with solvent or lacquer thinner. If POR-15® dries on your skin, nothing will take it off, and you will 'wear' it for 3 or 4 days until natural oils and flaking skin remove it." |

I once nearly got fired from a valet job in school for this very same problem.
POR-ed my car on saturday, got it all over my hands, scrubbed for a week. The boss pulled me aside and told me that no customer wants some idiot with black paint all over them driving their car. Gave me a look I will remember forever when I told him how I couldn't get it off. Like a parent listening to a child lie to them about not stealing cookies with the jar open, and a cookie in their mouth. Get some Lava soap and start using it in the shower and any time you wash your hands, speeds up the exfoliating process, and also gives you bright healthy skin, no wonder women are always sanding themselves! Ive used rubber gloves since then

Get some 400 grit wet dry paper and sand it off with soap and water as a lube.

So your job is to say "body of Christ" and pop a wafer thin thing on someone's tongue?

No problem. Just switch over to "Thin Mint" Girl Scout cookies instead of wafers for a week or so. And yes, you are correct, "three or four days" IS being optimistic. The exposed areas of your hands will shed but that stuff will stay in the wrinkles, cracks and folds of your hands for a good week. Sigh, I know, I did the same thing before a wedding where I was giving away the bride. |

Sorry I hope I haven't offended you. In practice I have no idea what that means.
But it sounds like you're the boss - so I vote you make the rest of your "staff(?)" wear those bright blue disposable gloves that medics wear. Tell them it is a new health and safety initiative.

In my experience, it's very optimistic. Took maybe two weeks to get it all off. There are still spots in the driveway 3 years later. Awesome stuff, I salvaged a Scout II Traveltop with it, there isn't even the smallest sign of rust returning.
