Diesel stabilizer ?

I will need to park my 2 diesel cars for a month and would like to make sure the fuel stays fresh. Is there anything easy to find that I can buy to add to the tanks for the storage here in TN and maybe to clean inside all moving parts before I store ?

Thanks,

Revolverman.

A month isn't long enough for the fuel to noticeably deteriorate. Even 6 to 12 months would be in the "barely worth thinking about" category in my opinion.

"Power Service" -- available in a grey bottle for slightly enhanced cleaning effect and in a white bottle for slightly enhanced (I do mean slightly; I've never noticed that it was worth it except as a cheap feel-good) winter starting, is one of the better and safer diesel additives out there if something must be used. I used to use grey bottle PS in every tank and then it became more trouble than it was worth to keep up with it. Now I just sort of put in an extra strong (stronger than the label calls for) dose about once a year in the things just to give them a good cleaning-out whether they need it or not.

If anything, I might suggest parking them with full tanks. The more tank volume is occupied by diesel, the less opportunity there is for water to condense, evaporate, etc.

A month or Two or Three.

Little to worry about as has been said.

I've got one tank of #2 D that's 5 years old and all I've done is add Startron.

StarTron Diesel Engine Fuel Treatment eliminates algae and fungal growth without the use of poisons. Reduces all emissions, including carcinogenic particulate smoke. Prevents fuel oxidation and stabilizes diesel chemistry for at least two years. The treatment lowers fuel system maintenance, and eliminates carbon build-up on injectors and exhaust components. StarTron increases fuel economy up to 15 percent. Prevents phase separation and fuel gelling, eliminating ethanol fuel problems. Instantly cures filter problems caused by Bio-Diesel fuels during cold weather. 1 fl oz. treats 32 gallons of diesel fuel.

I'd use Startron if anything. It is good for anything growing in your tank.

People on the Ram forums are always arguing about additives because of the VP44 (IP) problems on the 24V. Based on lubricity studies, I wouldn't spend my $$ on any of the PS products.
