Get a manual to study the setup. My first inclination is just to provide a self variable voltage source to vary the idle.Or more likely set it where you want it.

It will just be not variable as fed from the computor that was in the 603 car. First establishing what was a normal voltage range when operated by the computor.

Otherwise you probably will have to incorporate the 603 diesel electronics. I suspect without really knowing it reads the rpm and automatically corrects the idle. Wait until others with superior knowledge come on your site.

Not only have I never worked or seen this setup personally. What I quote is just suspicion and guesswork at best.

Yeah, I guess you could use a variable resistor to set the proper voltage. Get a wire from a fused connection in the fuse box, run it to a Variable Resistor/Potentiometer then to the unit.

You must match voltage and current requirements of the unit.

Whoops

The EDS (Electronic Diesel System,A.K.A. Engine CPU) in the Originally equipped
OM603.XXX chassis Controlled the Idle.

I suppose you could get an EDS unit from a 603 Donor and wire it up with all
the necessary inputs to run your idle...An awful lot of work, and Uncharted
Waters.

The OM603 I.P. idle can be set Mechanically with the bolt (With locking Nut)
that's above the Electronic Actuator on the back of the I.P.
