Shutoff valve & Sensor Oil Leak Question

I put my 1986 300SDL in my garage to replace the monovalve. I came out the next morning and saw this puddle of oil under the car. It never made a puddle like this before.

I tracked it to where I believe it's coming from the shutoff valve or the sensor behind it or both.

The car still shuts off with no hesitation. Should I replace the shutoff valve or is it more likely the sensor is leaking?

I've heard the sensor has an o-ring inside the IP which would make it difficult to fix, but I can't live with my car leaving puddles this size. To make things worse, I'm REALLY crunched for time and if this is too involved I may have to pay to have it repaired. At least I have my 300TD to drive in the interim.

Any advice?

Maybe it's just time for a new gasket under the shut-off valve. Leaking vac has nothing to do with leaking oil I don't think. The shut-off valve will work even off the car, the diaphragm is sealed inside the unit. But there is a gasket under the shut-off valve.

If that is the shut-off valve on the top, I think you'd be hard pressed to push that much oil out while sitting. Are you sure it's coming from there?

There's an o-ring between the shut-off actuator and IP.

The best you can do for the control rod sensor connector is clean and dry the area and smear RTV around the base. And pray.

Can just the gasket be purchased?

I looked at "Buy Parts" and they have a metal shutoff and a new plastic version but no gaskets that I could find.

I guess if the valve comes with the gasket it makes sense to just replace it while it's off.

The o-ring used to be listed separately. I don't see it anymore. It should still be available from MB. Call FastLane.
