300D on Ebay

I love the color of this 300D, it's exactly the same color as the very first 300D I drove (my uncle's) back in 1978 that started my addiction... I am very tempted... but the price, my gosh! Guess it is good that Atlanta is an 8 hour drive away... might make a good birthday present to my self - the saying "a fool and his money... LOL" keeps coming to mind

there should be a way to copy those pics to the forum before the auction is taken down.
I'd love to see that pair of engine shots saved for the vacuum routing alone...

I wonder what they cleaned the engine up with? steam most likely...
all the cosmoline is gone. my 180K motor has waaaay more original cosmoline on it than that one does.

also, for an award winner, it's odd that dime store battery is in there. I'd think a white MB battery would be more at home than that red flap thing...

Here you go - I was able to copy the image to a Word document and then save it as a PDF file, which is attached. I do not know how to convert it to a JPEG file so it appears as a picture on my post. If you click on the PDF file you can bring up the picture.

Charlie, those images are still stored on eBay's site though. You could get PP in trouble for cross-hosting. They will need to be saved to your local machine first, then uploaded to PP.

Well, I have a '8 300D in pretty good shape, but you could buy mine and get it into that kinda shape pretty quickly, for a hell of a lot less!!!! Lemme know if you wanna come to florida to pick up mine (original 199K miles) for a fraction of the cost. Then I can get me a 240D, 4-spd!!!!

So I am assuming that when eBay takes them down, they will disappear here as well.

Appears to be a very nice car but a four door 123 for that kind of money leaves questions in my mind. This kind of money for what it is a collector car or garage queen. Could buy you a better proposition if intended for a daily driver.

I personally think about 1/2 the current asking price is where it should be at best. For some reason these four door cars have not entered the collectable realm yet. Or have they?

Yes I was thinking 1/2 the asking price would be fair, maybe a little more... - I love the color combo, it's unfortunate it won't be mine... well at least not at that crazy price.

Well I also have an identical year and color combination with reasonably low miles. Even has the rear seat headrests. If and when I decide to part with it will drop you a line. My age of 69 1/2 means it might not be that long. This color is not all that popular remember. I also tend to be very fair minded when selling something.

Here is a similar condition car w/ 95k for $10k

I'm thinking $8k MAX for one of these.

85 Mercedes 300D Turbo diesel *LOW MILES!*

What colour code is that?

I have a pic on my HD of a w123 300td in that colour and it's really nice. Is it thistle green? Looks a bit pale for that.

My 300d is very close to that condition (well it's actually in that condition save for the fact it's had some respray done), ice blue on dark blue mb-tex.

If someone has $8k burning a hole in their pocket, well drop me a line....
