not exactly... the 126 mechanism is in a different place, a tad harder to access. I've already cut out the lock in the 126 parts car I had... I'll see if I can get some pics of one of the other cars...

thank you very much. Maybe some cleaning will do the trick. also, I can't seem to find any info about how to get the wiper motor out. As soon as I get the tail lights fixed and the wipers working, I'm going to put it on the road and drive it some with fresh filters and fuel to see how the smoking issue goes. as much as the smoke smells like fuel, I'm optimistic.

it opened with a little brake cleaner, but I'm thinking I need to find some better locks and another ignition switch. They are mighty stiff and the key looks pretty worn.

Hmmm......it sounds as if someone used WD-40, or similar, to "lubricate" the locks. Talk about something that will really gum up the works!

To get them back to "normal", after such a mess, it will probably mean some serious cleaning. Removal of the cylinder and soaking in MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) will dissolve just about anything (including paint and most plastics).
