Help with Dome Front light
Ok so now that the major work is completed I can focus on the nice things like making sure all the interior lights work. The front dome light is crazy. The dimmer control does not work but the light still does. I see a cut or broken link to a resistor of a diode of some type. The switch control has no contact or sprint it just floats and the lens if yellowed out to the point the light is all but useless.
Any tips other than buying a 130 dollar replacement. Do LED bulbs work any better?

If your light is the same as mine, it has three positions on the dial. However, the plastic stop tab that works the contacts on the inside is prone to breaking and then the dial just flops back and forth without doing a thing. I tried to repair mine, I did manage to get in there and fix the switch, but there must be a break in the circuit board someplace as it still does not function. I may come back to it at some point - or buy a used one. If your lens is yellow, I wouldn't bother trying to fix it.

Should be a junkyard part. I don't think the dimmer (rheostat) does anything with the dome light.
Three position: Off, On, and Auto with doors. E-mail vstech, he's probably got one or two that can be parted out. |

The switch in mine is totally dead and missing.
