1995 S350

Hello all. Came across a rare W140 '95 S350 that has me thinking. Well taken care of, previous owner owned it since '97. Evaporator done last summer. Engine runs great, solid car. Almost 200k miles.. trying to put a number on it, what's it worth?

Do a search on "rod bender" With a factory or Metrics Motors replacement engine it will be worth more than with the original engine. There are a couple on eBay at the moment, which suggests how rare they are, so you can get a sense of the demand for them.

With the right options and in the right condition it would be worth about $5000 to me even with a $3000 engine block swap lurking around the corner.

I know the problems with these engines. It seems like if they go past 150k miles, they will run forever. This engine runs beautifully.

Is the 3.0L 603.971 a direct swap?

Is that you, John? The 3.0L .96 block is a direct swap. BTDT. A turbo 606 swap requires some IC plumbing work and backing down to a 603 IP but it's basically the same block so it's not that difficult a swap.

I have the same car, smoke silver, 172,000 miles, new head gasket, tires & battery. Offered it to a friend for $5500.
