606.910 vs 606.962 Glow Plugs-Any Difference?

I have a 1995 E300 that I'm about to change the GP's out on. I am fully aware of the breakage issue and dangers associated with them. One is already broken by the previous owner and will need a drill out job. My main concern is getting the right Beru/MB number as I refuse to use Bosch or any other brand that doesn't have the thicker nut at the head and bad QC issues, and need to know if there is any difference between the '95 and '96-99 GP's, such as length and resistance value. My main source for parts only has Bosch, so I have to go to the stealership for MB branded Beru's. My source has Beru's for the '96-99, but I can't find any tech info on them to make a comparison other than part numbers. I have searched the forum and googled to find the info but to no avail. Here are the MB numbers for the Beru plugs: '95 E300: 001 159 16 01 '96-99 E300: 001 159 21 01 . Does anyone know where I can find the tech info to verify which one to use? Thanks in advance.

Be careful with the terminology " '96-99 E300." The OM606 engine was normally aspirated in '96-97 and turbocharged in '98-99. Your '95 OM606 is very similar [= almost identical] to the engine used in '96-97 and I would think uses the same glow plug but I cannot verify that.

I suggest checking with FastLane (they support this forum) to see what part numbers they list. Even if they don't have the brand that you want, you can at least see if the '95 version is the same # as '96-97. Maybe they will have exactly what you want.

Not the same as a '96. The electrical connection is different.

Thanks for answers. I was aware that the 96-97 was normally aspirated vs the 98-99 being turbocharged, but thought since both were 606's they might share at least the glow plugs in common. This just confirms that they are different from the '95 which was my hunch. I suspect its the electrical resistance value thats makes them different since the '96 forward 606's have more electronics.
