300D oil pan gasket
Did the OM617 come with a oil pan gasket from the factory? In my ongoing refresh of my 300D I decided to change the oil pan gasket to help with the oil leaks and my car didn't have one I can already see a difference in the oil left in my garage (dry so far)

Never heard of an engine without a pan gasket.

Depends on which oil pan you are referring to. And it depends how how you define "gasket." Upper pan used RTV, lower pan had a physical gasket.

This was on the lower pan...
I'm also down a bolt since one snapped during removal. I have driven about 60 miles though and it's all dry and tight. |
