need a door!

This next spring, I will need to do some body work ....worst on the passenger side front door (on my 85 300D). While the damage is fixable, consisting of rust spots, dings, rust under the trim, etc., I was wondering if anyone knew of a good source for a pristine door for cheap. This would make repair a lot easier. It would be great if I could find one in midnight blue!! Of course, shipping costs from somewhere in the southwest may be prohibitive.

Thanks

Cool

Unfortunately the southwest is probably the best bet. Sun Valley Mercedes is a great parts yard driving distance from me or a hop skip and a jump from Burbank airport. Their number is (818) 768 0704 and they have lots of great 123 parts. I don't imagine the shipping cost would be all that much UPS ground. If I can be of any assistance, let me know as I am 20 minutes from there and frequently visit.

ricali, where are you??

Hey Ricali.....90 miles west of Boston would place you in my old stomping grounds....I grew up in Worcester, went to college in UMASS Amherst, and spent many many days in the woods north of the Quabbin (Barre, Petersham, New Salem).

e-mail me at mmalchik@gza.com

I may take you up on a door! If yours is pristine, it may be easier for me to paint it and put it on my car, rather than do body work on mine....although my door is not too bad, I would have to strip paint, grind out about 6 rust spots, fill a couple of dents, and make it all look good (I hate body work!!)

Just 6 miles from Umass in Deerfield . Across bridge right on conn. river. You can have the pair for $40.00 They are light blue with glass. Don't believe they have any rust or dings.

That sounds great

I will let you know soon...I want to look closely at my doors, with trim off, inside and out before I decide to replace them. The price is certainly right, but I just want to do what is easiest with least work. (Light blue doors with midnight blue body....all I need is a bubble for the roof and it will look like a Mass. State Troopers cruiser...not quite as fast though!!)

Deerfield? You must be right at the base of Mount Sugarloaf!! Well how about that....I lived in Deerfield once on North Main street near the railroad bridge near Rt 5 (back when the drive-in screen was still standing). Spent many an hour in the Bloody Brook Tavern and the Hot-L Warren!!!

I was also married in the Old Brick Church in Old Deerfield (my wife's from Greenfield).

Thanks, I'll talk to you soon.

Mark
