Coolant temp switch for OM606 that cuts in earlier?
Hi all,
I have an OM606 N/A which is a daily driver stuck in peak hour traffic (both ways) for 1 hour plus each day. It frequently approaches 110C when driving bumper to bumper in Australian heat. My stock coolant switch is the blue cap which works correctly shortly after I pass 105C - Is there a switch (possibly from another MB model) that will pull the high speed fans on earlier? I currently have a switch in the cabin, which I switch on when I get to 100C to pull them on but my wife sometimes (usually) forgets to use it :D It is only an issue when the car is not moving, breathing everyone elses hot air through the radiator on a typical 40C/104F day with the A/C on. I telephoned a main dealer today and the bloke I spoke to just kept saying the blue one is the correct one for my VIN. He has no way to look up a part number without a VIN, apparently. So, a part number would be very helpful. Thanks, |
