Question Engine Mount - 300 SD

I replaced engine mount on my 1982 MB 300SD two months ago and it seems to going bad again because I am getting almost the same vibration as before.
When I replaced for the first time I noticed that the engine shock dumpers was not good as should be but due the need of the car I used the same ones.
Can those two shocks cause the engine mount to go bad so quick?
Thanks.

Usually a new engine mount that fails is because the mount is not an OEM part. Did you buy mercedes brand?

As for the shock absorbers, they are there really only for start-up and shutdown of the engine. To prevent the car from rocking.

I bought it from *************** and the part is sold as OEM with MB part number in it.
I replaced following MB manual on CD. and a the beginning it was vibration free.
Any other tip?
Thanks

two things,
1, yes the shocks DO protect and prolong the life of the mounts.
2, fuel/oil leaks will rapidly degrade the mount rubber, so be sure the metal shield is in place on top of the mount!

OEM does not mean that the part was made the same as the original MB part...
contact Phil at the buy parts button above, he will get you the correct quality mounts.
OEM just means that MB used that manufacturer for SOMETHING on SOME vehicle...

Probably the missed metal shield is the cause because when I removed the damaged mounts the shield were not there.
Thanks

The easy fix. Make a 6 x 6" pad of tinfoil, pop a hole in the middle and slip in over the new mount then tighten it down. Now form the foil down over the mount. No more oil on the mount.
Do this on each sides

I liked the idea.
Easy and cheap.

I'd rather use thin sheet metal than tinfoil.
foil tears tooo easy. maybe cut the turkey pans into a good shape after turkey day...

Scary Price!

NYKO46,

"You'll note This MM is the only one offered by your Vendor of Choice."
(A*t*h*u*s AZ)
For your Chassis.[This is NOT a Mercedes Motor Mount]

Just because the retailer puts a Mercedes Part Number on a Part does not
make it a Mercedes Part.

Note Also the PRICE,
"Ain't nothing FREE"(This Price is beyond belief.)
A.K.A. "Too Good to be True."

URO (TRASH) [which has become the Prime Supplier for AHAZ] cannot even offer
the Child Slave Labor Produced PRC Junk they sell at this Price!

A few months ago there was a thread on the Motor Mounts for a 123.

Original Equipment is made by Phoenix, and apparently Lemforder buys the Phoenix Engine Mounts and puts them in their own box.

Another thing that can ruin Motor Mounts quicker is if there is something out of spec in the Engine causing it to run rough.

There is some Motor Mount info in the below Thread:
