Anyone in the Cincinnati OH Region?

Hey all, I'm looking for someone to do me a favor and check out a car I'm buying in Cincinnati OH. I've been working with the seller for 2 or 3 months trying to iron on the details of buying his car but our schedules and distance to the car on both our parts has been difficult to work with (the car is stored in a heated garage a few hours away from him and two states away from me).

I've seen pictures of everything, inside and out, as well as being on the phone with him when he started her up and did a full walk around. I've talked to another forum member who worked closely with the car as well as the mechanic who worked on the car before the seller bought it. I've got honest feedback from both and already know the two or three issues the car is having. I'm happy with the asking price and quite honestly, I'm ready to make a purchase site unseen and get her shipped to my garage. The seller seems an honest guy, we get along great, and the difficulties in finalizing things have lead us to have numerous long conversations about the car and our love of Mercedes cars in general.

All that being said, he's pretty uncomfortable with me buying the car sight unseen. I understand his reluctance but honestly, knowing what I know about the car, and considering the price, I know that I want it and will tackle any issues I find without any complaints. Still, he's apprehensive that I'll find something that would have been a deal killer if I don't see it first. Doesn't want the drama, and I understand that, but he won't be getting any from me. I've bought a few cars sight unseen and been adult enough to deal with what I got when I got it because of the risk to that style of transaction.

With the constraints in my schedule, I don't think I'll be able to get out there and take a look myself. That and adding the cost of a round trip ticket to the cost of shipping makes the deal not nearly as sweet. I'm not excited about the idea of flying out and driving back as: scheduling is difficult, my wife is not into that idea at all, don't want to deal with any issues while on a highway in another state out in the cold, and with winter coming to our area soon, there is no way to predict snowfall on any given day, much less the fact that as soon as the snow comes out, so do the salt trucks!

We'd need to work closely to set up a good time to look and talk about compensation for your troubles. Like I said, I'm already sold on the car and there wouldn't be any need for serious scrutiny, I'm guessing you'd only find out what I already know, and we'd talk that out before hand anyway. I'm really just trying to get the seller to have some peace of mind and then take my darn money. I'm a little frustrated that we've had such mild weather here in NY and I have no Benz to work on in my garage!

The car is a 1984 Euro Spec 280E. I know it's not a Diesel, but it is a W123! Knowledge of these cars is a plus but certainly not a necessity. What's most important is being able to answer e-mails and phone calls / texts so we can keep communication going and talk while you're at the car. E-mail me and we'll trade phone numbers to talk. I'd like to have this shored up with the car on a shipping truck before mid December, earlier if possible!

Thanks!
