W123 FAN CLUTCH AND FAN mystery

Have come to the conclusion my car requires fan clutch pn 000 200 04 22.
My problem is my car has a metal fan, and the local Mercedes dealer says I should use fan pn 110 200 0323, which is the plastic fan. I am pretty sure that is incorrect. Rich here Fast Lane says to use fan 1082051006, which is metal but he calls for fan clutch w0133-1602745. Yet another mercedes dealer says to use fan clutch 000 200 1922

argh. I have a cracked fan and a badly wobbly fan clutch. motor number
61795 -12 - 014710. body is w123.133
Anyone have certain information?

Thanks for any info.

Wow, hope you get good info quick and can avoid using that cracked fan.. as it letting go can sure cause some damage...
Your VIN number may be important since that is how parts number changes are specified.... at least the month date of manufacture....

If you are replacing the fan because it is cracked, best option would be to procure a plastic fan and the associated clutch.

welcome to the forum!
first off, which 123 do you have? what year and model? your engine number shows a turbo motor, so it's after 81, and the chassis number shows .133 so it's a sedan. that's as far as I understand the chassis codes.
second off, I'd change to the plastic fan, it moves more air, and is better for the motor, and it's lower mass is better for the longevity of the clutch!
