basically, it's as simple as remove the belt, take out the bolts, swap the alternator.
the regulator is on the back of the alt, held in with two screws, easy to swap. I removed my stock alt, and installed a 135Amp one from a 300E the wireing harness from the E replaced the one in my D, and it was plug and play.
