'91 300D primary fuel filter

This may be a weird question. How much fuel should be seen in the primary fuel filter? In other words, should there be a small air bubble or should it be half empty. Mine is half empty, if this is not right, what can I do to fix it? Every other that I have seen is about 95% full.

it depends on how the filter is sitting. if it's sitting with the 90°Bend at the top, it barely has any air in it. if it's sitting with the 90°Bend low or level, it can be 1/2 full of air.

Ok, thanks. I'm not having any fuel starvation issues or anything. Was just curious.
