IP locking tool

Hello there,

I am about to check the injection timing in my 1985 190D (2000cc rather than your 2200cc). The engine code is om601.911

I was sure the tool I needed to lock the IP was #601589052100.

However I have just noticed that there is another tool which looks exactly the same yet it has a different part number: #601 0521. It is suitable for "late" MB. I wonder how late MB.

So I would appreciate if you could confirm which of the 2 is the one I need.

Thanks for your help
gonzalo

It is the same tool. Thanks to Diesel911, who clarifies this in another thread.

Cheers

This is the one.
Timed at 15 Degrees After Top Dead Center.

However, any time you buy something you should always check with the Seller to see if it is for your Year and model.
That way if there is any mistake made it clarifies the issue of a refund or exchange.

Thanks for that Diesel911. You would not believe how hard it is to get that tool here in Europe. It must be the first item I have not found in ebay.
Luckily though I believe I have just found a distributor nearby. Shipping it from the USA is more expensive than the tool itself!!
